Valentine Pancake Breakfast & Sweets For Seniors

A new partnership program proved very successful this year.  The Lions Club of Bedford Hills and the Bedford Hills Neighborhood Association joined forces for several great causes.  The Lions Club sponsored a Valentine Pancake Breakfast to raise money for youth reading programs at the Bedford Hills Free Library.  Besides the Lions flipping the flapjacks on Main Street, Ms. Kathy was also there creating beautiful balloon hats for children young and old in attendance.  Members of Fox Lane High School Leo’s program were on hand helping to serve those present.  Community support was tremendous this year.  Making it extra special guests brought homemade goodies for our senior citizens.  Guest’s coming to have some pancakes dropped off their homemade sweets to the Bedford Hills Neighborhood Association.  Whereupon they were individually wrapped and set for delivery on Valentines Day by volunteers from BHNA. BHNA members made their sweet deliveries on February 14th to seniors at various locations and were greeted with smiles! We had a great day seeing and talking to all our friends, what a great community event!

Giving Thanks

Standing with Bedford Hills Elementary School Principal Mr. Zbynek Gold, Lion Sylvia presented two complete Turkey Dinners with all the trimmings on behalf of The Lions Club of Bedford Hills.  The dinners will go to two families in the District with all our best wishes!

On Wednesday, November 16, 2011 The Lions Club of Bedford Hills met at Nino’s Restaurant and surprised one of our members.  We conducted some business during the meeting but then we focused on Matt Garrity, a long time member of the Club,  Past-President and member of the community.  Matt, a twenty-plus-year Lion, has been instrumental in guiding the Club and promoting Lionism in not only his personal life but also in whatever project he undertakes.  We recognized Matt for his achievements and dedication.  Many members, including a Past District Governor,  spoke about Matt and his dedication to Lions.  Thank you Matt!
